What if I told you that you could get closer to your dreams by doing one thing everyday! Well, that's exactly what I'm saying. I challenge you to get up one hour earlier everyday and do one task that will get you closer to where you want to be.
The first few hours of the day determine how the remainder of the day will go. Getting up earlier and being productive in the mornings is a great way to be more productive throughout the day. Do something inspirational as soon as you open your eyes. Fight the urge to check instagram and, instead, grab an inspirational book or look at one of your favorite quotes. It helps to store your phone across the room at night. That way, it's not the first thing you see in the morning. Start your day with inspiration instead of envy and you'll carry a bit of gratefulness everywhere you go!
Those early hours are going unused. There are 24 hours in a day. Most of us use 13 or 14. Getting up just 1 hour earlier every day gives you access to 5 unused hours a week (7 if you get up an hour earlier on the weekend) The way I see it, that's extra time to go and be awesome :)
Check out my quick tips that'll make you more productive (Promise!)
1. Create a weekly goal. Write it down on a post-it or in your planner
2. Write a list of 3-5 things you can do to get closer to that goal
3. Assign each of those tasks to a day of the week
4. Get up one hour earlier every day for 5 days and do the one thing you've assigned yourself. It's best to get this done before your other responsibilities start to monopolize your day.
Here's an example of this idea in practice:
Goal- Adding images to my online portfolio
How I'm going to make it happen
*Research photographers who's work I want in my book
*Create a list of my Top 3
*Email a different photog everyday
Daily Morning Assignments
Monday- Research photogs. Create a list of Top 3
Tuesday- Email photographer 1
Wednesday- Email photographer 2
Thursday- Email photographer 3
Friday- Follow ups
This is just an example of a simple goal and how to get moving on it. And everyone reading this has time to get up, do a little research and send ONE email! You never know where one email will lead. Stop waiting for the perfect time and start breaking down your goals into bite sized chunks.
Don't have enough time in the day to get it all done? Repurpose some of those morning hours and poof!
Are you willing to get up one hour earlier and do ONE thing that'll ultimately get you closer to your goals? Are you already an early bird? Chime in below!

This is great Danielle! Thank you for this post. My Wife and I plan to implement this practice starting this week! Sometimes it's tough to carve out time when you get lost in the responsibilities of daily life. The effort to make time for your dreams will be well worth it in the end. I plan to follow closely for more greatness.
ReplyDeleteI hope you, Antoine and Logan are well!
